Made a parking lot friend at the local grocery store. As you can probably tell from the rest of the parking lot, I do not live in the sort of neighborhood where this type of thing is common.

Well, this is the fancier grocery store. They keep all of the ‘90s Japanese stuff that makes up the other half of the neighborhood over at Safeway. I’ve seen precisely one (1) exotic here before.

Isn’t Safeway pricier too, though? Aldi, Food Depot, Lidl gang.

None of those exist in this state, at least that I know of . There are some discount options, then Safeway and the local Kroger affiliate (QFC) in the middle, then the smaller/fancier local chains (Central Market and Metropolitan Market)  and Whole Foods .
